Most actors and actresses you meet who are in the public eye never look quite as good off screen as on screen but Vicky McClure is an exception to the rule.  Best known for playing in the Shane Meadows film and series "This is England", it may not come as a surprise as she plays a role that demands that she puts less makeup on when being filmed than she would on a normal day.  Don't get me wrong, she doesn't wear excessive makeup in real life but in order to play a working class Midland's girl she has to keep her natural good looks well hidden.

I have to admit that I am a big fan of Shane Meadows' films and especially "This is England".  He is known for finding local talent and This is England is almost exclusively made up of unknown, midland's talent.  And out of all the actors he works with Vicky is definitely one of my favorites.  She has a real talent for playing the real and gritty.

Talent like Vicky does of course not go unnoticed.  Now she has worked with Madonna on her latest film, and has just starred in the improvisational BBC drama series True Love (to mention a few of her latest achievements).  In the end it is her talent for improvisation and for playing 'true British' that has impressed me and I really hope to see more of the McClure/Meadows collaboration in the future.
