A relaxed, tall, lean man in an ‘all too red’ room was what met me when I walked into the Covent Garden Hotel. I wanted to order a nice, cold beer, sit down at an imaginary bar and pretend he knew my name – but I was there to do work and not to be served by the worlds best loved bar tender – (that is for all of you who are old enough to be familiar with the TV series Cheers).
Although the times had changed, Ted is still the handsome mad he was back in the days. Yes – a few more white hairs and a pair of glasses for every day use, but the face is still the same. A legendary smile and a statuesque nose. No sign of any plastic surgery which gives him dignity and style.
The biggest change however are the rolls that Ted now plays. We all know him from CSI which is the polar opposite to the innocence of ‘Cheers’ - but he is also prominent in the current comedy series ‘Curb your enthusiasm’, where the humour is a lot more edgy and current that the innocence of Cheers were able to achieve. So, constantly with his finger on the pulse, Ted Danson is not about to leave us for the quiet life, but will instead bless us with more CSI and who knows – maybe more laughs in the future.
