Admittedly I have never read Sir Terry's books.  Not that I have anything against the books, not at all, but they were never really introduced to me and I never went looking.  

Although I looked forward to the shoot with Sir Terry I wasn't quite sure what to expect.  In 2008 he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and I wasn't sure whether to expect a somber man or the man who's known for fun and his humor.  It was with great relief that I met a charming and fun man with a glint in his eyes. 

He started the interview, with a German journalist, by mentioning 'The War'.  Shortly after he insisted on introducing the same journalist to 'Bubble and Squeek'. As the shoot was coming to an end he managed to get me to sing him a Norwegian song about not wearing your hat indoors in exchange for a few more minutes of photographing.  All in all - quite a surreal day.
